Dorl Sweet
Dorl was born in 1935 in Springfield, MO. He began golf at the age of 10 while working as a caddy at Hickory Hills. As a teen he became an assistant to golf professionals Arlin Stone and Sam Reynolds. In 1973 he was named head pro at Grandview Golf Course in Springfield. In 1996 he moved to Springfield's Rivercut Golf Course as the director of golf. One of Dorl's main interests was promoting junior golf. He was a co-founder, with Rick Grayson, of the Heart of the Ozarks Junior Golf Foundation in 2001. That same year he opened the Connie Morris Learning Center and the Betty Allison Junior Golf Course both at Rivercut Golf Course. Dorl was an inaugural member of the Greater Ozarks Golf Hall of Fame. Dorl passed away on August 18, 2007.
